Tracey Butcher was born and raised in south Florida and currently lives in Cocoa, Florida. Educated as a zoologist at the University of Florida, Tracey has worked for more than 20 years in the zoology & conservation fields. Her passion for wildlife and wild places led her to Zimbabwe for her post-graduate research where she lived and worked for fifteen years in community-based natural resource management and wildlife conservation.
Tracey moved back to The States in 2002 where she worked with Brevard Zoo in Melbourne, Florida. As the Zoo's Development Director, she quickly expanded its philanthropic revenue and was highly praised for her public outreach and fundraising success. She continues to focus on conservation and currently works for Wildlands Project where she serves as the Outreach Program Director. Focusing on donor development and zoo participation in field conservation, Tracey has been able to combine her passion for wildlife and wild places with her biology background and love of people.
